Little Red Bucket Tour -Kyoto

Japan, Kyoto

I have been to Kyoto several times but I was never aware of the little red buckets till now. They were in town EVERYWHERE usually in front of each house’s front door.

It says “To erase fire” on the side and the bucket is filled with water.

In Kyoto, there are still many old houses standing close to each other and they are made of wood. I don’t know how seriously the locals depend on those buckets but the idea, taking care of not only the plants but the little red bucket (the water is clean in most cases) is a kind of sweet.
